Me Audrey BRUIN recently assisted a professional athlete before the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD), who was initially facing a two-year suspension for ingesting Terbutaline (a substance used to treat asthma).
The firm’s defense of the athlete before the AFLD enabled the suspension to be reduced from 2 years to 3 months.
As part of the athlete’s defense, an application for a Therapeutic Use Exemption was filed.
The reasons why the athlete had been unable to apply for a TUE in advance were explained in detail before the AFLD, as part of the athlete’s defence.
The athlete’s defence also involved, in particular, explaining his medical history, the reasons why he had taken the drug and the dosage.
BRUIN Avocat is delighted to have supported the athlete, enabling him to obtain a substantial reduction in the sanction incurred, and thus pursue his sporting career.
